The rest of March...

March has been typical with very little bird wise. On the 22nd I spent the morning at a local sight looking for Adders, the perfect conditions meant I was lucky enough to see 4.

Early migrants started to flow through at the end of the month such as Wheatear, Chiffchaff, Little Ringed Plover and Sand Martin but the best bird was a drake Baikal Teal at Fen Drayton RSPB in Cambridgeshire.
It was present with good carrier species such as Wigeon and Teal but I doubt it will get accepted as a wild bird. Hopefully it will make a move in the next couple of days. The bird is also fully winged and unringed and with 2 accepted birds in 2013 I might be lucky. Only time will tell...
